Nearly three years after their son's death sparked nationwide protests, the parents of Michael Brown have settled their wrongful death lawsuit against the city of Ferguson, Mo.
Brown, who was African-American, was shot and killed by a white police officer in August 2014.
As we reported, Brown's parents filed a civil lawsuit against the city of Ferguson, former police chief Thomas Jackson and former police officer Darren Wilson, who shot and killed the unarmed 18-year-old.
The lawsuit claimed Wilson "unjustifiably shot and killed" Brown, using "an unnecessary and unreasonable" amount of force.

It was already proven in court that he did not have his hands up. So let's just admit that it was a pay off just like the mafia!
this is Bullshit - his parents had no clue what a thug he was. They only want to cash in on his death... POS's and City is STUPID!
Who cares. The useless thug is in hell and the cop is free. All that matters. Let's just hope with the money the useless parents will go on a binge and they too will end up dead.
WHY? Why would they settle this with compensation? This is so wrong and only encourages these rogues to keep it up. This kid was an out of control thug who used his size to intimidate and strong arm. 11:33 AM, I think you are wrong. I think his parents knew exactly what a thug he was and could not control him. If he wouldn't listen to law enforcement why would he listen to parents. He had no respect for anything. But I do agree it is BS and the payout to me is a form of admission of guilt even though the courts proved civil rights were not violated.
Run them out of the courthouse, but collect court cost first.
