NAACP Expected to Vote to Oust Current President

The national board of the NAACP is expected to vote Friday to dismiss its current president as part of an effort to retool the organization to better resist President Trump's agenda.

The decision to part ways with Cornell William Brooks is part of a larger shake up for the storied civil rights group, according to the New York Times.

Brooks' current contract will expire in June. While the search for a new president takes place, Leon W. Russell and Derrick Johnson, the chairman and vice chairman of the board, respectively, will operate the organization.

When asked to elaborate on why the organization decided to move on from Brooks, Russell only said the board had determined it needed a new leader.

The personnel shift is supposed to help the NAACP have a more aggressive presence in fighting the Trump administration, the Times reported.

Rather than fight the Trump administration it would make more sense if they would take their concerns to the administration and try to work with them rather than fight them. But then I guess when talking about Democrats nothing they do makes any sense. Fighting the Trump administration will get them nowhere because ain't some wishy washy university president that they can badger and threaten.

How come they still use "Colored" in their name since they like the new BS name "African-American" instead of just being an American?

The NAACP has one guiding principal: always blame whites for their own troubles. They have never understood that THEY are the reason for their problems.
Learn how to speak, pull up your pants, respect the police, go to church, try your best in school, build up your neighborhood, stop using the slavery card and, for Gods sake, stop blaming us for your repression. You've had a hundred years to overcome your woes but you still blame others.
The first step for recovery is admitting you have a problem.
So, celebrate and promote your success stories instead of calling them 'Uncle Tom's' Keep your kids in school and teach them responsibility. Don't rely on the government for sustenance. And encourage 2 parent families. It ain't rocket science!
If you do that, you "will overcome "
I know, you will call me a racist and you are so, so very wrong. If your doctor tells you to lose weight and stop smoking, is he against fat people? No, he's trying to save your life.
I've been supporting black groups for years.. giving thousands of dollars and many hours of my precious time....and I'm getting tired of them not trying to help themselves. It's really getting old!
If our country is so racist, how the Hell did Obama get elected TWICE !?!?
