Chronic Disease Self-Management classes to begin


Learn to cope with pain, fatigue of chronic disease

Hypertension and Chronic Disease Self-Management Programs will be offered Wednesdays, April 12 to May 24, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at the Lodges at Naylor Mill in Salisbury.

Offered through MAC Inc., the Area Agency on Aging, the program is led by trained peer leaders.

The Chronic Disease Self-Management Program also will be offered at the Christian Center in Nanticoke on Mondays, April 24 to June 5, from 2 to 4:30 p.m.


Chronic disease, such as heart disease and arthritis, are leading causes of disability in the United States. Program participants will learn to cope with the fatigue, frustration and pain that accompany chronic disease, and exercises for improving strength and endurance, all of which have been shown to improve health and decrease hospital stays.
