A Viewer Writes: Local Crab Soup

On of your commenters wrote they couldn't get any local crab soup. Came from Redners in Georgetown. Pretty damn good.

That was me with that post. I can't find any canned MD Crab in Somerset, Worcester, or Wicomico counties. I use to find Campbell's but no longer sold down here. I have looked almost everywhere!

WOW that IS NOT Maryland Crab soup.
IT is Maryland STYLE made with foreign crab made by a mega corporation.

7:37 AM that just shows you how stupid people are, they read Maryland on the side of a can, and wham-o it has to be Maryland crab meat... Even though as you pointed out it is Maryland STYLE soup, it means it has old bay in it...

I've had this brand before, it isn't that good. I do find it odd you can't buy Maryland Crab soup at any supermarket in Worcester or Somerset county.

Is that LOCAL CRAB soup, or local CRAB SOUP? I doubt there's any local crab in that soup. I'd like to see the label. It has to say where the ingredients come from, if they are foreign sourced.

Easy peasy. Get crabs in summer. Steam. Pick. Get local vegies. Make big pot of crab soup. Eat some. Freeze some for winter.
