California taxpayers are shelling out $25,000 a month for 40 hours of former U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder’s time to help the state strategize for upcoming clashes with the Trump administration, according to a contract obtained by a conservative watchdog group.
The California Legislature hired Holder and his Washington, D.C., firm, Covington & Burling, last month to assist with legal challenges over everything from immigration to environmental policies.
Judicial Watch, which obtained Holder’s contract through a records request, called the deal “crony corruption pure and simple.”
“The new records show California state legislators are wasting tax dollars to bankroll another corrupt politician – Eric Holder – under the pretense of attacking the Trump administration,” Judicial Watch president Tom Fitton said in a written statement.

Holder should be in jail with Killary and obummer.
This is why Trump has put a stop for anyone leaving his administration for lobbying the gov't. for 5 years.
This is a surprise to no one. I bet that the citizens of CA won't bat an eyelash over this since it has to do with being against President Trump.
What is California going to do when Holder gets indicted and prosecuted for his corruption and lawlessness while AG? Is all that money toast? Waste of more taxpayer cash! Californians should be highly upset by this waste and fraud. At last survey, 77% of Californians' legal voting base are against both sanctuary cities and turning the whole state into a sanctuary state.
Does California really have $25000 to spend on worthlessness?
$625.00 per hour is the upper end of what any corporate or celebrity lawyer charges. It is not too excessive. However, if it is a monthly retainer fee, then it is an absurd waste of taxpayer money.
