Hey guys- Jeremy Norton here, owner of Roadie Joes. I feel its necessary to address this situation as both a concerned citizen and business owner. To be clear this incident DID NOT happen at roadie joes or even in the parking lot that is closest to Roadie Joes. The parking lot in question is a very dimly lit, blighted piece of property that has been a constant concern for safety at night for quite some time. I have met with city officials previously in reference to this problem and the short term solution that we came up with was to make this a heavier patrolled area at nights(thus the reason a patrol car was just driving by). Unfortunately this area is privately owned and therefore the city cannot illuminate or fence it properly. In almost 4 years of business at this location we have never had an incident this extreme happen so close to home. I am very confident in the ability of our police department and do not feel in any way unsafe when I am in downtown Salisbury. Its very unfortunate that this happened and we pray that all individuals involved are doing well. For anyone that feels the need to talk to me personally- I can be reached at 443-944-9156 Thanks and God Bless- Roadie

I never thought the 3rd Friday thing in that area was a good idea did not like it when Ireton and Jake Day were for it, and they pushed for too many bars in the area--believe me downtown one bar would have been enough for the police to patrol the area. It is becoming a hotbead for trouble get the SPD to give you the figures on the complaint calls since it was started.

11:31, Law Enforcement has been doing an incredible job Downtown. It's easy for people to sit on the outside and criticize, I get that. However, I've been there at closing time and the Police presence is fantastic. The Officers are very kind and professional. In fact, so ALL of you know, this was picked up by a Police Officer who just happened to be driving through that area and it started out in the breezeway at Parker Place, then the parking lot and ultimately at Feldman's. ALSO, there were only TWO people that had come from Roadie Joe's, NOT 150 people, like WBOC has claimed. The rest of the crowd was random and could have come from Brew River or Market Street Inn. This is what you get when the local media has NO investigative reporters OR even a reporter who will call to confirm what actually happened.

The 150 number came straight out of the Salisbury Police Press Report! You are, however, are correct about the lack of investigative reporting by the local media!

Guess SBY vehicles will be going back to the paint shop to revive the 'bury moniker.

I doubt SBY has enough police on duty at that time of night to actually handle 150 brawlers and hangers on. Not good.

I doubt that 100 or 75 or even 50 people came from Brew River to hang out at 2am in the Parker breezeway. A group that size would be on security cams and easily verifiable. I don't know Mr. Norton and have never been to his business solely based on its location. Nonetheless, if his business is on the Plaza it is most likely that many of the people in the immediate area would have come from his bar. Furthermore, it does not make sense that patrons from other area bars would have an ongoing dispute with patrons exiting another establishment.

Nah, you're confused. It's "one riot, one TROOPER". SPD can't roll like that. They need backup to be 30 seconds away. Troopers and Deputies are on back roads in the most rural parts of the county with no backup AT ALL. Catch you outside how bout that
