KNIGHTSTOWN, Ind. (WISH) – Residents in Knightstown are fired up after the town council removed a cross from the town’s Christmas tree.
The issue boiled over Monday morning after the town conceded a court case. Now residents in the area are fighting back.
“It’s just ridiculous,” said Aaron Magee, a Knightstown resident. “I’m very offended that the cross was taken down, and I want it put back up. We all want it put back up.”
It all started after one resident in town filed a lawsuit claiming his civil liberties were being infringed upon. That suit was then picked up by the ACLU.

Satan is alive and well working thru these demons, to wear us all down with these absurd attacks on GOD and truth.
I would be standing with a giant cross next to the tree.
God i hate the ACLU.
Well it actually doesn't quite make sense being there any way. It would be like putting baby santa in the nativity scene.
They oughtta be. Should NEVER have been allowed. Coward council!
His civil liberties were NOT being infringed upon. Nobody said he had to look at it or to practice whatever religion it espoused.
if i lived there, i'd put it back up.
What a luxury to be so lazy, unproductive and useless to have the time to be offended.
So none of you would be offended if a pentagram was placed on top of that tree? Pretty ironic too that many of the trademarks of Christmas stem from pagan beliefs. I'm not offended with or without the cross on top just want to remind everyone that we are a secular nation and that no govt agency should promote their beliefs. Religion is a private matter and should remain as such.
Muslims in US allowed to do whatever they desire. Christians in US not allowed. Definitely something wrong!
