Tell me why 12 donuts that will kill you are 4 dollars and 6 oranges that are good for you are 5 dollars. I'm so sick of the backward way the food market works. Healthy food is expensive and fake food that will make you sick as a dog is cheap cheap. And the reasons for this is even more disturbing.

How can I feed my family healthy food without going broke? And please don't say grow a garden because I have tried a few times and if I had to depend on this for food I would starve to death because I can't grow nothing but weeds. I am going to try again in the spring but I need good advice now. Thanks peeps

What ever happen to the bill passed a couple years ago reference TV commercials being so loud? It passed several years ago and was to go into effect a year or so later. The time came and has long passed and still no difference. The commercials are bad enough without the high volume.

Tired of seeing people come into my office that have medical assistance and or other state or government funds. Draped in gold with fancy nails IPad's and cell phones. Whereas my parents in their 80's can not afford their medication to stay alive, have no cell phone, and can't afford groceries.

Don't worry Donald Trump is going to fix everything!!! In less than three months all your food problems will go away - with GMO's, all regulations rolled back, you will be able to spray those weeds away with Agent Orange who cares if it pollutes the bay - No Regulations! Just hold on - paradise is coming!

1:41 I know why and would you believe I learned this from the school age children of my Amish friend. A few years ago I was visiting and when the children came home from school, we asked what they had learned that day. Why 'junk' food is less expensive then fruits and vegetables at the grocery store. First a lot of the ingredients in junk food is much more government subsidized i.e. corn syrup, animal fats, flour, etc. Then transportation costs as you have to watch you don't bruise or smash oranges compared to stacking boxes of donuts so fruits and vegetables takes more room which adds to costs. Then supply and demand. There is much more demand for junk foods the healthy foods. I hope this helps to answer your question.

My wife is a teacher. She came home from school and told me the WCEA and the MSEA, the local and state teacher's unions, will be trying to get the Wicomico County BOE to agree to implement union agency fees for school employees here in Wicomico County. An agency fee forces employees to pay a fee to the union even if they are not members. My wife does not belong to the union because she doesn't agree with their activities and politics. If the WCBOE agrees to this, she would be forced to pay regardless. She is very upset about this and so am I. I just throwing this out there to see how other people feel about this. Should people be forced to pay a union they don't want to join? And I wonder how this would impact our school system and if forced union fees would keep quality teachers away from our county schools. Just seems to me a union shouldn't be able to have the power to take money from people who don't want to give it to them.

Don't be so dramatic 2:26. There's smart regulation and there is regulation that was put in place for the sole purpose of Big Business; a way for them to skirt the anti trust laws. Big Business wants no competition. Regulation runs smaller companies out of business and prevents new competition from even consider opening. People need to wise up on the way it really works "inside the beltway." Drain the Swamp as Donald Trump said.

So the rumor was the new Acme didn't want to sell boar's head deli (there is no mention of it on their national webpages) because it is not a brand they normally sell. But customers and employees (and most likely a contract) resulted in them retaining it. (BTW i'm finding their lucern brand to be pretty bland)
Now low and behold the price on a large number of products has jumped over 3$ a pound in one week. How can you sit there and charge 8$ for a steak, but then at the deli counter charge 15$ a pound!
It smells like they are trying to push people to not buy it so they can force boar's head out the door. Not that i'm some mega-fan of boar's head, but it's better then their house brand(lucern) crap.

Drill Baby Drill! I read on some sites that the rumor mill is saying Sarah Palin may be offered the Interior Secretary position. She stumped for Trump all over the Rust Belt and it could be said she helped flip PA, OH, MI, WI and IA into red states.

What's going into the remodeled building next to Wi Middle? It used to be a discount bread outlet.

I agree 3:42 but MD isn't a Right to Work state so if there a union you have no choice but to pay.
When Hogan was campaigning we actually asked about his views on this. He didn't even want to go there and quickly changed the subject.
It would not keep quality teachers away at all. If anything it attracts the bad teachers because they know the union will back them up even if they perform poorly.

@3:57, it's an architectural firm. I don't remember the name of it, but they are on the plaza and needed more room.

3:51 PM I understand your frustration about Acme. They pile canned foods high on the shelves however they have many fewer selections to choose from. The Giant always had multiple varieties of goods, but not Acme. I used to shop at Giant for nearly forty years and loved their products and many of the employees, however I have stopped shopping at Acme. I found they were overpriced and didn't have the same quality or variety of products.

4:19..There is a sign out front of the building saying the space is for rent. Did things change????

ACME is just horrid. I am making trips to Giant once a month for organic meats (to avoid hormones). We have had friends ask us to bring things back as well so there may be something starting up soon. I assure you that you are not the only one who is fed up with Acme. Many cancers in women are hormone driven and fed by meat that is grown and shot full of growth hormones. This isn't just a discrimination against a store...it is a fight against cancers.
