As of Wednesday afternoon Matthew remained a major hurricane with 120 mph winds and was starting to bear down on the Bahamas.
Forecasts as of Wednesday afternoon continue to bring Hurricane Matthew near the Florida and South Carolina coasts before turning the storm east. While this would limit impacts in the mid-Atlantic, a shift in the track back to the north would bring threat back for rain, wind and flooding. Please keep up with the latest forecast track.
Even with the storm remaining offshore, windy conditions and mionor tidal flooding are still expected along the coast and Bay of NC and VA especially from Saturday evening into Sunday. Also expect a few showers across the entire region Saturday. See http://weather.gov/akq/Matthew
