And now insurance companies want to raise flood insurance costs! Disaster economics and capitalism.

It looks like baton rouge!

My daughter lives in Snow Hill and said it was near impossible to try to get anywhere

Flood insurance is from the Fed. Government--you just pay through insurance companies--the insurance fund is completely broke btw as most government programs are

Thanks for sharing your pictures Brandon. People don't realize how bad some of these small towns were hit.

I don't recall ever seeing the banks of the Pocomoke breached that far inland.

Look at how much more the property will be worth now that it's waterfront.

Ol' blackwater, keep on rollin'...

It was not a normal storm.
The sky had more water than normal.
I believe the airplane trails help to hold water in the sky.
This makes bigger rains.

Something should be done about the airplanes.
Less pollution would be a big help.

9:44-I wonder if weather prediction equipment can detect the'feel' of heaviness that was in the air just before the rain fell?

9:44, I want to know your answer to 11:18 PM question.

@9:44 I completely agree. There was a lot of unusual activity at Dover AFB prior to the storm too - notice how they aren't making any comment on the weather.

You must be too young to remember the Snow Hill flood on August 20, 1989. The river crested a little higher back then, than it did this past weekend. What I find interesting is that the water may go around the bridge during times of flooding, but it never goes over the bridge.

There's still a car in the water that some moron tried to take through the water by the Down Under Restaurant. On Saturday, the water was still halfway up the driver's side window.
