Wicomico Public Libraries held a ceremony for the dedication of the Michael H. Lewis Memorial Little Free Library at the Downtown Branch on Friday, July 22nd. The Michael H. Lewis Memorial Little Free Library is a project that was created to honor former Library member Michael Lewis who passed away last year. Michael Lewis, who was homeless, used the Library every day for over ten years. He is remembered for his gentle spirit, kind words and his love of reading. The project was funded by the Friends of Wicomico Public Libraries.

The Little Free Library will be stocked with book donations received by Wicomico Public Libraries and will be located at the Help and Outreach Point of Entry (HOPE), a non-profit agency committed to assisting those in need by providing basic living services to end the cycle of homelessness and poverty. It is the Library’s hope that this small gesture will not only memorialize Michael Lewis but also bring the gift of books to a population that is often overlooked and forgotten in our community.

Wicomico Public Libraries are located in Downtown Salisbury, the Centre at Salisbury, Pittsville, and the Library Bookmobile. Not only do Wicomico Public Libraries offer numerous free resources such as Internet access, a variety of classes and events, public meeting rooms and an online virtual library with eBooks, and streaming movies, music and audiobooks, but it engages with the community by supporting learning, building community, and enriching lives. You Belong @ Wicomico Public Libraries!

The Mall Branch is across from Chuck E Cheese, near Boscov's.

The director at this library is something else. I have been in that library several times where shes telling the homeless to leave. She only cares for herself. If your not on her level your a nobody. She's not fooling anyone.
