Ginger broke out of her kennel on July 31, 2016 in Mardela Springs, Md., near NW Elementary School. She was a beautiful Red Labrador Retriever and was a total sweetheart. She was very gentle with everyone and wouldn't hurt a soul. Well, unfortunately, a cruel person hurt her. She was found dumped in a ditch with a gunshot wound through her heart. How anyone could commit such a heinous act is beyond comprehension..... As you can imagine, her family is completely devastated. Our community is devastated too and our hearts break for the Austin Family.
We are are so sorry for the loss of Ginger and we hope that the person responsible for this horrible act of animal cruelty is found.
Our beloved pets are our family. They spend their lives loving unconditionally, giving us so much joy, emotional support and friendship. It's a beautiful bond and Ginger's life ended abruptly but not in vain. Please help support the efforts and spread the word so that there will be Justice for Ginger. I understand being angry and sad. But this is the same thing as panhandling on the road. Gofundme is over used!
I hope Ginger haunts these POS their entire worthless life. I hope they find this idiot and leave them in a ditch as well.

I am so sorry for your loss and for it to have been in such a cruel and cowardly manner. Is there any way due to her color that she could have been mistaken for a deer. Is it possible that she could have been from a distance they did not get closer and shot mistaking her for a deer? Either way I am truly sorry for your loss, they are great big lovable dogs my son had one.

So sad. Unfortunately you can't judge the person who did this. Nobody knows the circumstances. And while you may know the animal was harmless, a stranger wouldn't. So many things that could have happened. Which does include just cruel behavior. Praying for you and your family.
It's not deer season 5:48! The trash that enjoys killing animals will kill ANYTHING.
We know how you feel our dog was shot by deer hunter 3 yrs ago and to 5:59 you had first part right-IDIOT- don't blame the gun !!!

I got a friend that does the begging on the road and makes almost $200 a day. I am thinking of joining him, beets working and paying taxes.
I'm all for the perp be found and find the same fate! Eye for an eye.
Will money be donated to humane society or elsewhere if perp cannot be found? Just wondering. Don't like to donate like this if I don't know money trail.
