IRS to 'Start Processing' Tea Party Applications

The IRS this week said it would begin processing applications of tea party groups that it held up for years, The Washington Times reports.

However, for one such group in Texas, saying and doing are two different things.

The Texas Patriots Tea Party received a letter from the Justice Department saying it finally, after four years, would see some movement on its application, but no details were provided, the Times reported.

"We will be in further contact regarding the application process once we have heard from the IRS," Justice attorney Joseph Sergi wrote to the group's attorney, the Times reports.
