State commission submits final standardized testing recommendations

ELLICOTT CITY, Md. —A state commission picked to examine standardized testing in Maryland has submitted its final assignment.

Gov. Larry Hogan appointed 18 people to a panel last November. The testing commission is made up of lawmakers, parents and educators. Its recommendations could affect thousands of Maryland students and teachers.

The testing commission has made almost two dozen recommendations. At least one of them, in particular, seemed to hit home for students who are familiar with the Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers assessment tests.

Students called to testify before the commission had concerns about what they did on days when they're not the ones taking the PARCC test.
