An officer charged in the death of a young black man whose neck was broken in the back of a police wagon has filed a federal defamation lawsuit against Baltimore's top prosecutor.
Lt. Brian Rice sued State's Attorney Marilyn Mosby and Maj. Sam Cogen of the sheriff's office for defamation of character, false imprisonment and violation of rights.
In the lawsuit, Rice cited Mosby's public comments during her May 1 press conference when she announced charges against six officers, including statements about the legality of the knife found on Freddie Gray. The officers maintain the knife was unlawful. Mosby said it was legal.

While people in political offices are busy tripping over themselves trying to keep the public calm they lose site of the fact that real lives are involved and there are repercussions from their actions.
Some times what seems like the politically correct thing to do is NOT what needs to be done at that moment. Mosby took the law into her own hands. And while something needed to be done, she managed to taint the law while she was rushing to judgement. (IMHO)
The law may have called for something to be done but the law is supposed to fair and impartial on all counts for every citizen be he/she criminal or victim. Rushing to action when not all the facts are in and processed is her downfall. I would not be surprised to see theses suits prevail.
I hope they do prevail, and she can kiss her political career good bye!
Mosby overstepped her boundaries. Settlements upcoming.
git her!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
