Everything You Need To Know Ahead Of Maryland's Primary

Where do I vote? What races are on my ballot?

You can check your registration and polling place, and view your sample ballot using the state's voter registration lookup. The lists of candidates on there will also include links to campaign finance and candidates' social media pages, where available, and other more general resources like FactCheck.org, Politifact and the Federal Election Commission.

When are polling places open?

On April 26, your local precinct will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. If you are in line at 8 p.m., you should still be able to vote.

When can I vote early, and where can I do it?

Early voting polling places are open Thursday through next Thursday, April 21, 2016 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. The State Board of Elections has a list of early voting polling places on its website. You have to go to a polling place in the county you're registered--if you live in Baltimore City, but work in Anne Arundel County, you can only vote at one of the city's six early voting sites.

Under state law, the number of early voting sites a county has depends on the number of registered voters. That's why rural counties like Cecil and Carroll counties just have one place to go.
