Are You Tired Of Seeing Self Proclaimed Hero Images On Social Media?

What's next, images of police officers taking selfies too? Oh, that's right, we already have that with the Salisbury Police Chief in the Wicomico River.

These people need to simply do their job, (what they are paid to do) and stop bombarding Facebook and Twitter with how special they are.

I can see them publishing images on their own Websites but come on, really, Facebook and Twitter? Enough is enough.

As long as their mugging for the cameras doesn't inhibit fulfilling their duties, I don't see the problem.

No way!!! All they get is criticism....glad to see them post pictures of themselves and the scenes. Wouldn't get it in the news any other way!!

I love 2 see action fire scenes!

From someone living in the neighborhood it was over done no need for so many trucks, most of the fire dept were just standing around, it was not a fire at the hospital, a hotel, or large building with potentially many victims it was a tiny little rancher no bigger than a postage stamp. Over kill and publicity is the game.

I have to agree with you on this one. As someone who goes to facebook frequently I see a lot of fire fighters putting up pictures and remarks at the expense of the victims. The accident scenes are the worst.

any man who takes a "selfie" out to have his manhood cut off.

1136-As should someone who can't identify the difference between out and ought.

It is all very narcissistic. A real hero does not need the glory that allegedly comes from self promotion.

A real hero does their job and then they go home.

Don't often agree with Joe ... Well maybe more so lately.

Almost seemed competence is something to be celebrated these days....not expected.

Let them feel good about their work, it will not hurt you. Rather see that than read the usual bitter remarks from bitter people.

Yes I am sick of the self proclaimed heroes of the Salibury Fire Department. I am sick of them feeding a bunch up crap to us just to justify their jobs.

"If it was your house you would wish all those fire trucks would respond."

"We are cross trained firemen EMT's that's why we chase ambulances."

"It's better to have to many fire trucks than not enough. You can always turn them around."

On and on and on!

Some of these comments are so true!!! It's hilarious to come across a lot of these men taking pictures of themselves boasting and bragging about their story book lives. What really gets me are some of the ball coaches around here with their selfies and taking credit for a kids athletic ability just because they may have played on a team

Call the Salisbury Fire Chief and complain if you have a grip, 4105483120. If I read it correctly any city employee who takes a photo while at work has to ask permission of their respective department to post a photo because the photo belongs to the city. The Volunteer Firemen fall under this policy also.

Funny the last two pictures you used were training and nobody was being paid....
