SC EXIT POLL: 75 PERCENT AGREE WITH TRUMP’S MUSLIM BAN

Only 23 percent said they oppose it

Three-fourths of Republicans participating in Saturday’s South Carolina GOP primary say they support presidential hopeful Donald Trump’s proposal to ban all Muslims from entering the U.S., according to an exit poll.

A CBS News exit poll of Palmetto State primary voters found that 75 percent said they support Trump’s proposal, while 23 percent said they oppose it.

Just days after the terrorist attack in San Bernardino, Calif. – the worst on U.S. soil since 9/11 – Trump sparked a media backlash for saying that all Muslims should be temporarily banned from entering the country.

The proposal has been ridiculed as impossible to implement and called racist by some, but it has resonated with many people concerned about the potential for terrorists to infiltrate the U.S.

He'll just be following a federal statute.

Here is U.S. Code 8, section 1182, re: inadmissible aliens. This law was written in 1952. It was passed by a Democrat-controlled Congress, House and Senate, and signed by a Democrat president.

"Suspension of entry or imposition of restrictions by president. Whenever the president finds that the entry of any aliens or any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, the president may, by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or non-immigrants or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate."

Note that the law refers to "class of aliens".
Trump is right again.

Muslims aren't members of a particular race, but are part of a religion that, according to its book of rules, calls for the death of all non-Muslims. I don't welcome them if they subscribe to those tenets.

I live in MD, not a S. Baptist and I oppose it. I think it's just common sense, something that died when PC-BS took over.
