Chris Christie said Tuesday that he was returning to New Jersey to await the final outcome of the New Hampshire primary before determining whether to continue his campaign for the Republican presidential nomination.
"We're going to go home to New Jersey and wait," he told supporters. "We should know tomorrow morning, tomorrow afternoon, what the vote count is — and that's going to allow us to make a decision about how we move from here in this race."
Christie was projected to place fifth in the primary, with 7 percent of the vote.
He told Jake Tapper on CNN earlier Tuesday that he had three events scheduled in South Carolina on Wednesday.
