“The Delaware State Police is saddened by the tragic death of Lieutenant Colonel Benjamin Ewing. Our heartfelt condolences go out to the Ewing Family.
Lieutenant Colonel Ewing honorably served the Delaware State Police and the citizens of Delaware for 20 years as a Delaware State Trooper retiring in 1978.
Following his retirement he served 22 years in the state legislature where he continued his service to the community as an advocate for law enforcement and public safety.
The Delaware State Police is eternally grateful for his service to the citizens of Delaware.
He will be greatly missed by all.”
