WASHINGTON — Since 1967, Chick-fil-A has featured cole slaw to complement its signature chicken sandwiches. On Jan. 18, the restaurant will retire the creamy Southern staple from its menu.
The company, on its Facebook page, said it was a “difficult decision.”
“We know many of our customers love our Cole Slaw, yet we have also heard from them they are looking for new tastes and healthier ways to eat in our restaurants. It is important to us to provide a wide variety of menu options and this will occasionally mean we have to remove one menu item to make room for another,” Chick-fil-A wrote in response to a customer who asked about the company’s plans.
“Superfood sides,” such as a kale a broccolini salad, will replace the cole slaw, according to Business Insider.

geesh bunch of whining babies ruin everything. I always got coleslaw with my nuggets.
I'm so old that I can remember when Arby's used to put cole slaw on roast beef sandwiches if a customer requested it.
Seems a lot of their customers love their cole slaw. So, if those who want to eat healthier could choose something else or add health items instead of taking off cole slaw.
Your not eating there to be healthy.
And a customer can always not order it to eat less calories. They should just keep the coleslaw and add another item for more choices.
Now that Chick -fil-A Cole Slaw will be eliminated from their menu, they have graciously released their recipe. Make it at home and stop telling the company how to run their eatery. The recipe is all over the internet including in this post of WTOP
Chick -fil-A Cole Slaw recipe
4 teaspoons vinegar
¼ cup sugar
¼ teaspoon dry mustard
¼ teaspoon salt
1 cup mayonnaise
2 10-oz. bags finely shredded cabbage, chopped
¼ cup carrots, diced
Whisk vinegar, sugar, mustard, and salt together until sugar is dissolved. Add mayonnaise and whisk to mix. Add cabbage and carrots. Mix to combine. Refrigerate for 2 hours and serve.
(Makes 6-8 servings)
I love their cole slaw. One reason is because of how fine it's chopped up. I hate long stringy cole slaw. And I also remember the Swiss King sandwich at Arby's with cole slaw on it. I used to ask for it, but haven't lately. I'm not sure if newer employees would know what we're talking about.
Cole slaw is good for you. Cabbage and carrots.
