Baltimore City Police Commissioner Comments On Recent City Homicides

Police have confirmed that a man was shot and killed in a vacant house in Brooklyn overnight. That pushes the homicide rate to 316.

According to the Baltimore City Police Department Facebook page, early this morning city officers were called to a vacant house in the 900 block of Dantrey Court for report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located, inside the house, an unidentified adult male who was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the head and body. The victim was pronounced dead on the scene.

Commissioner Davis told WBAL's sister station 98 Rock that retaliatory murders are causing the spike in killings. He also joined WBAL NewsRadio 1090's C4 and said "we saw some level of stabilization (in murder rate) at the end of November and have not started out December in a good way." He later added "Retaliatory violence is real, it is not just in movies and television shows, you know. It's something that we have to really have to continue to pay attention to."

How does someone shot had just been released from prison for murder after 15 years?

Umm. Trying to make a fast buck by moving some drugs for somebody, but coming up short? Whatever it was, it was either drug or sex related.
