More and more electric-powered and hybrid vehicles are visiting the resort, finding places to charge them continue to be a challenge. In April, the town hosted a Tesla convention that drew over 100 of the high-end electric-powered cars, but most participants had to charge up in areas outside the resort. To that end, Tesla has presented a grant to the town to facilitate the installation of charging stations in the future, but resort officials continue to wrestle with just where to put them.
Through the grant from Tesla, Ocean City has agreed to install three charging stations at the Convention Center parking lot, but even deciding on the exact location for those stations has presented challenges. City Engineer Terry McGean explained the original proposed locations did not have the high-voltage electric service needed to support the charging stations. Instead, McGean suggested moving the stations to a different area of the Convention Center’s vast parking complex.

For urban driving or going back and forth to work at a short distance it's ok, but I don't see this as practical for an road trips or long distance driving. Cold weather can also drain a battery faster. Afraid that unless there is somekind of fuel backup, it's going to leave you stranded somewhere.
They can install them at the Lewes Ferry Terminal right next to the two existing ones that usually sit unused.
What a bunch of crap!
If you were smart, you would buy an electric car and get charged up for free since they sit unused.
Waste of money.
Tesla is paying for it and people that can afford and buy electric cars tend to spend more money in OC than hourly wage earners living paycheck to paycheck.
Tesla cars get nearly as much on a charge as your cars do on a tank of gas. They charger quickly and while pricy they are the future. Tesla is working the battery technology and now also working with Mercedes Benz. The technology in these cars is impressive. Set the interior temp minutes before a drive and when you get in the car u are set.you can even set it with your smart phone. The cold doesn't seriously effect the batteries. The car can burn tires of it and zero to sixty matches most v6 and a few v8s.
