My 12 year old grandson played in a baseball tournament and each member of the team received a nice 4th place trophy. Really, it was very nice. Now his team didn't win one game in the tournament. That's right, there were four teams. Upon receiving the trophy he and his brother's comment was; "Participant". The good news is they know the difference. The trophy made its way to the trash as it has no meaning.

And this is only the obvious. Some tournaments actually start penalizing teams if they are winning by too large of a margin. This liberal feel good give everybody a quarter and a hug crap is insanity. But that's none of my business.
