Gina Best of Columbia, Maryland, said her daughter, 28-year-old India Kager of College Park, Maryland, had been in Virginia Beach only a couple of hours before the shooting occurred.
"She was unarmed. She was completely innocent. They shot indiscriminately," Best told The Associated Press in a telephone interview.
Kager and Angelo Delano Perry, 35, of Virginia Beach, died following an exchange of gunfire with officers Saturday night outside a convenience store, police said. Officers had received information about a person of interest in a homicide and as they approached a vehicle outside the store, someone inside fired at them, police said. The officers returned fire, killing Kager and Perry.

Gotta love the VA Beach police. Everyone knows not to mess with the VA Beach police. These are the same police that once emptied almost 100 rounds into a car because the driver had the audacity to try and run away from them during a traffic stop. When they were done the driver looked like Clyde Barrow.

The article doesn't say if a gun was found (a very pertinent fact), which leads me to question the veracity of "someone fired at us".

Umm when you shoot at a cop, it IS your fault. Maybe try hanging out with individuals who don't carry guns.

What article did most of you read? If they shot at the cops I supposed you guys would like them to get on their bullhorn and ask the people politely to stop doing that as they endanger everyone else around?
The only sad part about this is that the low life multiplied before she was justifiably gunned down and now there's another up and coming thug to look forward to.
This mother needs to immediately go and crawl back in the hole from which she emerged. Her daughter was a low life no good thug herself. She chose to hang around a criminal with a violent history and not only that but made a baby with him. She was going to die violently eventually so better to get it over with now. It's all part of living the high risk lifestyle and if the mother doesn't understand it then too bad.

With a level of concern about this man that the vehicle was under surveillance, obviously the police were tipped he was planning something. So this woman was basically driving a getaway car. And her mother says she was totally innocent? It's unbelievable how these people can lie. This is the major reason that race is spiraling downward and are killing each other off in record numbers.
They need to do something about the way lying comes so naturally to them.

If I was not a cop, but a concealed carry person, and someone from inside the car started shooting at me, I would shoot everyone in the car that might have a gun and the ability to shoot it, like everyone over the age of six. Until they were dead, or I was out of bullets, whichever came first.

7:44 I wonder the same thing. It sounds like her family did try to raise her right, and she had a real future ahead of her. This wasn't a typical reptilian hood rat. She had family that cared for her enough to see that she had more "privileges" than a lot of us.

They won't ever 8:35. Honesty and taking personal responsibility is a foreign concept to the black culture. They have no morals, values or principles due a lot to the lack of any real black religious leaders.
They are mostly followers instead of leaders and they follow wolves in sheep's clothes (democrat party) who keep them in chains and in slavery. Unfortunately most haven't the brains to see this and this is why all other races have moved forward except them.
The mother needs to suck it up and accept the fact that her daughter chose to live a high risk lifestyle. When you make the choice to associate with thugs and criminals you just might get killed.
The only thing the mother has any business questioning is her own role as a mother and what she did wrong and commit herself to not making the same mistakes with her grandchildren which she will most likely now be raising.
