Noise on a ridiculous level

Hey Joe, This is Parsons Landscaping out here for the second night in a row. Last night it was midnight and they were doing this same exact thing. I went and spoke to the guys running the equipment. They told me that Gillis Gilkerson would not allow them to come in during the day to do this work, that it HAD to be at night. Now I ask ya.....does Gillis REALLY have the community in mind when he does this kind of sh!t? 9 months of hell directly from Gillis and Terra Firma. I wonder how much anyone else would like this 20' from their bedroom while the kids are in bed???

And I thought I had it bad having to be woken up by gunshots at night living in the city.

Boo hoo, white privilege. Grow up, this is what happens when you live in a city/town.

And no it's no different when you live in the country as I live next to a grain mill that operates 24/7 during the busy season.

Turn on a fan and the white noise will drown out any noise.

There are people who feel they are entitled to do anything they want and the Gillis gang feels exactly that way.

This is a very legitimate complaint. And who is Gillis Gilkerson telling people when they are supposed to work and when they are not? 9:45 PM or midnight IS NOT the time to be doing work there. Give me strength. Since when do they run the town and what goes on in it. Too damn bad all the racket isn't right next door to them, 24-7.

Are you sure Gilkerson actually made that comment?

Gillis owns this town. Do not expect anything to change. Better buy some ear plugs.

No surprise here. Gillis does what he wants and no one will stop him. If he cared so much for Salisbury why does he live in Ocean City and none of his kids even went to SU?

Its not what you know but who you know in this town!

Parsons crews have no respect for neighboring properties no matter what the hour. But isn't their a noise ordinance that would prevent them from doing this at night?

Maybe you dumb clowns will start to listen to us now? huh? no? not yet? oh ok then keep dealing with your noise 20' from your face at night whilst you sleep...

I will be in bed asleep with NO noise!!!!! I don't always like to rest, but when I do, I rest easy....

Always people complaining about them. People are employed and working. We need to be thankful and happy anytime we see people working nowadays. Extra income to the county. Less welfare recipients. And when the projects done..... I bet the complaining jerk who sent this in..... His property value will increase.

The STATE will shut them down if called for a noise violation if called. The do it all the time for gun ranges.

lucky I'm not you id probably be in jail

I can tell your a State worker. Smdh. And I don't believe your correct. The State does not have a noise ordinance. This falls under city/town and counties to establish.

1:24 of course that is your answer. How about we come to your house tonight and the next night and see what your answer is then. I got an idea, lets not schedule it, lets just show up unannounced and surprise you!

Try and scourge up a smidgen of empathy before you open your mouth. It is obvious that you have never been subject to what these people have been subjected to.

I hope the next ghetto housing units go up behind your house.

1:24 are you kidding? No ones property value increases when their back yard is a housing complex. Are you really that stupid or just a troll stirring the pot?

I called the city officials out in the beginning (almost 9 months ago) about the definitions of their noise ordinance. The two that actually responded (Day and Mitchell) to my cries for help acted extremely interested at first. Then, once they realized that I was going to be relentless in trying to get them to uphold the ordinance, they quit talking to me. The Mayor threw a hissy fit after only a few emails, (as you may recall on this very blog)and directed his staff not to communicate with me any longer. Jake Day said "we dont make hasty decisions" ....like its real tough to draft a working noise ordinance....all they did was take other municipalities wording and insert it into their own ordinance. The police dispatchers would mock the situation. The developer, Gillis Gilkerson, lifted his hand a threw up the middle finger at all of the residents of this community by allowing the work to continue past the allowable hours, even after being told by city officials what the rules were. Jake Day has protected Gillis Gilkerson throughout the entire 9 month process. How do I know that??? Well lets just say its mighty convenient that the noise ordinance was finalized August 10th, just 3 days after the completion of the project in question on August 7th.

Nice work city council. Bet youre happy that you got the last laugh.

Gillis was allowed to operate unimpeded for almost 9 full months....all while telling us residents how much he cared about our concerns. I dont know Palmer Gillis other than having dealt with him about this noise violation stuff, but, what I took away from our conversations is that he is a bold faced liar and cares nothing about local residents, just collecting that almighty dollar.

For you asshats on here yapping about "oh gee, at least there's people working"....Gillis could have doubled or tripled his work force (creating more jobs) in order to save from working past the times outlined in an already existing noise ordinance. Dont give me that crap about "its just people working" until you live through it for a while.

Less welfare recipients??? Do you have any idea how many hispanics were there? Every single day it was the Hispanic crews that would stay way past the 6pm shut down time. Do you think they spend the majority of their money in this community??? Hell no, they send it back to their country of origin. And my property value? Thats funny, its not going up. It doesnt take a genius to know that.

Uhhhhh....what?

Anonymous said...

I bet that grain mill was there before you moved in.....

I can tell you one thing. I would put up with that for 10 seconds. Quit whining about it and sabotage the equipment. You have asked them enough.

Anonymous said...

doesn't everyone have until 11pm before they have to be quiet?

Well after 5 years now, the Parson boys never finished their "1 year punchlist" on homes they built.

That would require them to actually be there to work
