Immigration advocates in Maryland are criticizing a decision by Gov. Larry Hogan to notify federal immigration officials when an illegal immigrant targeted for deportation is released from the state-run Baltimore City Detention Center.
Advocates consider Hogan’s stance to be a departure from the policy of his predecessor, Democrat Martin O’Malley, who last year joined other elected officials in refusing requests from the Obama administration to coordinate with federal law enforcement whenever a detainee was being released.
Hogan’s decision, which was made with no fanfare shortly after he took office in January, is especially troubling, advocates say, because it is his first significant action regarding immigration policy.

I agree, but the notification should occur some time before that release is accomplished, in enough time for the Fed wheels to turn to appropriately act and not at the last moment, when the paperwork might not be in a timely enough fashion to do so.
Why release them when they are to be deported? Makes no sense.
Was it O'Malley who made the decision to refuse Obama administration requests at the Baltimore prison? I was under the impression that all policy at the Baltimore prison was handled by the Black Guerrilla Family.

This should be a no brainer, though I do agree notifying them prior to release would be more beneficial.
If illegal is caught take them somewhere to not be seen again.
Why in the world would anyone not notify the feds? Do opponents want to wait until they rape and murder our loved ones before they do anything with them?
It's the way it was before omally. Omally created a sanctuary state in Maryland. That's why so many illegals come here. They drive intoxicated in vehicles with Texas plates, North Carolina plates, etc., and no insurance. They commit crimes and there is no way to tell who they really are. They often possess several social security cards. They are released on recognizance and fail to appear in court. They move around this country doing whatever they want with no repercussions for bad behavior. This is a direct result of liberal policy.
O'Malley's thinking is to turn them loose so they can kill again and again. Helps Plan Parenthood.
Do what's right? Since when is releasing illegal immigrants from jail the right thing to do? When their times done..... Bold them till they're out of the country.
