Columbia family wants to thank anonymous couple

COLUMBIA, Md. —A family wants to thank the anonymous couple who paid for their family's meal while they were celebrating a 60th birthday.

Sarah Kim and her family -- her mother, husband and three children ages 9, 4, and 2 -- were out celebrating her mom's 60th birthday with an intimate dinner at the Longhorn Steakhouse in Columbia around 8 p.m. Tuesday when they were surprised by an apparent random act of kindness.

"The anonymous couple were seated in a booth near our table. I'm guessing they overheard us talking about my mom's birthday with my server, Thomas," Kim said.

Kim said she thought the anonymous couple had an issue with their food or bill when she noticed two servers, including theirs, at the couple's table.
