Chuck-E-Cheese in Kentucky Refuses to Serve a Police Officer With Firearm

As if no-gun policies weren’t already stupid enough, a Chuck-E-Cheese in Kentucky has just taken the cake when it comes to idiotic policies. Because they have a “no guns” policy, staff thought it made perfect sense to refuse service to a police officer carrying his weapon. Brilliant.

A Kentucky Chuck E. Cheese appears to have taken the kid-friendly chain’s “no guns” policy too far, refusing to serve a police officer who entered the restaurant with a firearm.

The gun-toting officer encountered the problem at the Chuck E. Cheese in the Greenwood Mall in the city of Bowling Green, prompting outrage from some people, including a sheriff from a neighboring jurisdiction, WBKO-TV reported Friday.

“I was upset,” Edmonson County Sheriff Shane Doyle told the station. “I was shocked for that officer and also for all the patrons there because you know if you have an obvious police officer and they’re wearing police clothing, then I don’t understand what the problem would be having someone like that with the training and experience of a police officer [coming] into an establishment.”

Chuck E. Cheese’s national headquarters called the situation an unfortunate misunderstanding.

Dumb cop open carrying a gun a wearing a polo shirt with a picture of a badge on it (like I could have made at Robinsons) is lucky she didn't get shot by real citizen with a concealed carry permit.

That's right. Rules and laws are for everyone. Cops always want the blind eye when it comes to them. If it wasn't an emergency call then he should've respected the business and not carried. When will police realize that they aren't above anybody. If anything they are below us. They work for us!

There are so many other places to eat. However, as a supporter of police I will take my business somewhere else.

Good... Now lets start gathering info on the cops who think or act above the law and we can get a picture of them and post it everywhere... Refuse them service for having a gun and if you do it enough maybe the will get the picture...

Also as a side note, if the cop was in chuck e cheese without a child then something is wrong with this picture and is probably a pedophile...

Most cops want their food for free or reduced price for the privilege of having them in your eatery. This place to him to get lost, and what normal man would want to eat at a child's food place, when he don't have a kid with him? Pervert?

5;30 that is a good point, why would an adult with no kid there want to eat in a kids restaurant? Future sex offender?

Everyone should have the right to carry everywhere at all times, open or concealed.

I guess nobody here has ever notices that ALL the mass shootings happened in "Gun free zones".

Can I get a "DUH"?

If we could all carry, things around here would get real polite.

If you want to carry a gun, don't go to Chucky-E-cheese. If you want to go to Chuck-e-cheese don't carry a gun. Everyone on this site agrees you shouldn't force a baker to make a gay cake, so logically why would you force an establishment by law to change their policies on guns. Vote with your feet.
I think it is a mute point because it won't be Chuck E, Jasper Jowels or Mr Munch animatronic robots showing up on your doorstep one day to take your guns away.

"mute"? do you mean quiet?

Is this guy a pervert cop or what? Why does he want to hang out with little noisy children? His supervisors should be looking into that.

The food there is awful, and the furry in the rat suit is annoying as well as creepy. Why would anyone want to eat there, who wasn't dragged there by a small screeched

Right on to Chucky Cheese! The only guns I want on my property are the ones I own.

I don't blame C.E.C. What if a customer accidentally dropped a cup of coke on the floor. The cop would have pulled his gun and started shutting up the place killing people and children. Theses cops are already afraid of their own shadow. I just don't blame C.E.C.

If you don't want this issue to happen to you.....cop or civilian..... Conceal your weapon. Nobody will know you have it. No big deal. If something happens then you'll be ready and I guarantee you that once you handle business and save a bunch of folks the gum will not be an issue.
