The Senate’s vote to defund Planned Parenthood seemed to be more about political optics than actually casting votes for the right thing. A bill that would have halted $500 million in annual federal funds from going to Planned Parenthood died when a procedural vote that required 60 votes fell short by seven. This raises questions: How serious are the Senate Republicans in protecting the lives of the unborn? Some GOP senators see this vote as testing the waters, possibly for a political cage fight come fall if the GOP gets enough backbone to attach a PP defunding measure to a spending bill and risk another government shutdown.

So much for representing the will of the people.
It is only the will of a small minority of people.
Those that cry the loudest get the most attention, justified or not.
You make such a statement from your armchair, but if what you say is true, what have YOU done to make a difference and change the world.
You words are meaningless.
Wow!! The Republican senators seem to forget that their election is coming soon.
I guess it really doesn't matter the Kenyan in chief wouldn't sign it.
I have created a small business that pays more than $50K in Federal taxes. From my armchair - I want representation for my contributions to my country (also time spent in the Navy)!
If you will not stand up for the least among us...when will you stand? If you will not fight for the innocent...when will you fight?
I confess that these votes are very discouraging to me as an American. To be sure, there is one Judge and one Lawgiver to whom we all must give an account of our time...of our votes...of our words...of our actions...of our silence.
There is no vote or procedural effort you can muster to deliver yourself once the gates of Hell close behind you.
Republicans had no plan to defund this. All smoke and mirrors to give the base a little red meat to chew on.
Should be called "Unplanned Parenthood".

Should be called "Babies parted out"
