BALTIMORE (WJZ) — Baltimore City Council is considering a move to toughen up on dog fighting. The proposal would make it a criminal offense to possess equipment that trains dogs for fights.
Meghan McCorkell reports this may make it easier to get convictions against animal abusers.
Animal advocates say dog fighting is still a major problem in Baltimore, but catching the people doing it isn’t easy.
Last year, hundreds of dogs were saved from what prosecutors call a violent dog fighting ring that operated in Baltimore and beyond. Twenty-two people face charges after 15 city rowhouses were raided.

If you can play football though, all will be forgiven.
Humans are violently dying in droves in that cesspool of a city, and they decide to take the time to protect dogs?
Maybe they have their priorities a bit skewed.
"Dog Lives Matter"... We'll just put that "Black Lives Matter" stuff on hold for now...
This makes me so SICK! Dogs (& cats) are precious beautiful gifts from God. People are evil and disgusting! This world is sick and evil!
This crazy world needs Jesus!
I understand people getting upset that we spend time and money protecting animals, but it has been scientifically proven that those who abuse animals, if not stopped, will go on to abuse people. It's just too bad they don't let us fight the inmates anymore. These guys should go to the front of the line!
Unfortunately the charges against the ringleader of this fighting ring were dropped today. Reason the States Attorney's Office (Mosby) didn't turn over evidence to the defense as required by law.
Incompetence and the best thing that could happen to Baltimore City is that Mosby gets hit and decapitated by a garbage truck.
She serves no useful purpose to anyone or anything!
