A judge and a trial date has been set for the six Baltimore City Police officers charged in the April death of Freddie Gray, who died from spinal cord injuries in police custody.
The Maryland Judiciary named Baltimore City Circuit Judge Barry Williams to hear the case.
The arraignment for the six officers which is set for Thursday of next week has been cancelled, with a deadline set for Friday for the officers to submit not guilty pleas in writing.

This is the judge who will hear the motions already filed. If this judge grants the motion for change of venue, this judge’s duty will include continuing procedural maintenance until the case is accepted by the receiving court. If the case remains in this court, this judge will hear the case.
Your wrong. Not how it works.
