ANNAPOLIS, MD - In an effort to provide assistance to business owners who were affected by the civil unrest in Baltimore last month, Governor Larry Hogan’s Office will host a free Maryland Business Recovery Workshop. The workshop will be held on Friday, June 5, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Murphy Fine Arts Center at Morgan State University located at 2201 Argonne Drive, Baltimore, MD 21251.
“We encourage all business owners affected by last month’s events to attend this informative workshop,” said Keiffer Mitchell, special advisor to Governor Hogan. “This is a perfect opportunity to connect businesses with available resources to help in their recovery efforts.”
Attendees will learn valuable information from financial service providers including nonprofits, banks, and private organizations offering assistance with damaged physical property, loss of inventory and revenue, and economic adjustment. Information from state resources, including the Small Business Administration and Baltimore Development Corporation, which can help access available financial resources, will also be available.

Cheivelle Hill, Department of Housing & Community Development ($35K loans/grants, up to $500K)
Joy Hatchette, Maryland Insurance Commission (uninsured)
Les Hall, Department of Business & Economic Development (loans)
Jeff Trice, Department of Labor, Licensing & Regulation (lost wages/unemployment)
Darryl Massey, Maryland State Lottery & Gaming Control Agency (lost or stolen lottery tickets)
Kerry DeVilbiss, Baltimore Development Corporation ($35K loans/grants)
“Governor Hogan is committed to helping Baltimore businesses recover and rebuild as quickly and efficiently as possible,” said Governor Hogan’s business ombudsman, Roger Campos, who will also serve as moderator for the workshop. “This workshop will provide one-stop resources for business owners seeking the next steps in the recovery process.”
Following the presentations, attendees will have an opportunity to meet one-on-one to apply, seek more information, or receive an appointment to follow up on loan/grant applications.
