(SALISBURY, MD) – No one has been arrested in connection with yesterday’s murder of a Wicomico County man, but state and local police are working around the clock to identify and apprehend those responsible.
The victim, James L. H. Skinner, 20, of the 1000-block of Bryn Mawr Avenue, Salisbury, Md., was found lying in the doorway of his residence shortly after 3:30 a.m., when police responded to an emergency call at the home. An autopsy conducted today at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore determined the cause of death was a gunshot and the manner of death was homicide.
Investigators have learned Skinner had been living at the address for the past two months. The homeowner is reportedly a friend of his family, who lives there with her two sons and one daughter, all teenagers. At this time, the investigation indicates Skinner, the homeowner and her daughter were in the residence when multiple persons entered the home. Investigators have not located evidence of a forced entry.
Evidence indicates one or more of the suspects was armed. Some type of confrontation occurred between the victim and the suspects, during which he was fatally wounded. The homeowner was not injured and, when she found the victim, called police.
A motive has not been determined at this time. Investigators continue to interview associates and friends of the victim. Forensic evidence has been forwarded to the Maryland State Police crime laboratory for examination and analysis.
Anyone with information about this murder is urged to contact Crime Solvers of the Lower Easter Shore immediately at 410-548-1776. Crime Solvers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the indictment of the person(s) responsible for this crime.
The investigation is continuing.

There were two other residents in the house when this happened who were witnesses and this is all their "investigation" has revealed? Could have gotten that much in the first two minutes of talking to them. No wonder crime is so high.
Looking hard for the perps that chased the kid into the river ? NOT.
I thought you could not carry a gun in MD.
Butt, Butt, Butt crime is down in Salisbury. Just go ask Jake Day and Jim Liarton. Yes we are one of the safest cities in the world because we get to fudge our own murders, I mean accidental drownings.
Shot over 20 times........ media left that out.
Even if they get him/them, the jury will let us down. AKA, Donnie Mariner's case.
Depends on if the murderer gets a jury of "his" peers.
Don't worry the States Attorney Police on scene it will get solved lol. Should they be a witness if they are trampling all over the crime scene ?? Joe maybe you can answer this. Do State's Attorneys have the right to enter a secured crime scene uninvited by the police ??
Nobody gets a jury of their peers.
He was shot ONCE, in the face. Don't know where you got that information but you are very misinformed.
