BALTIMORE (AP) - Six officers are charged in Freddie Gray's death from injuries he suffered while in police custody. State's Attorney Marilyn J. Mosby says the officers repeatedly failed to get Gray medical treatment after his arrest. The police officers union has said they are not responsible for Gray's death.

Here is a look at each of the six officers.

OFFICER CAESAR GOODSON

Goodson was the driver of the van that transported Freddie Gray, and he faces the most serious charges. Mosby said Friday that Goodson repeatedly failed - a total of five times - to seatbelt Gray in the transport vehicle. Overall, Goodson faces six charges, including "second-degree depraved heart murder," which carries a potential 30-year sentence.

Goodson, 45, has been on the force since 1999. Friends describe him as a family man who likes to watch football and works part time as an auto mechanic at a shop specializing in Saabs. With help, he restored a green Saab convertible, a car one friend says he only takes out a few times a year. He wasn't scheduled to work on the day Gray was arrested but had been asked to work overtime, friends said.

A friend who worked with him as a mechanic said Goodson had hoped to retire in several years.

Just read this at another site:

Marilyn Mosby, the Maryland state attorney for Baltimore who on Friday announced charges against six city police officers for the death of Freddie Gray, said last year that a St. Louis County grand jury’s decision not to indict Darren Wilson in the shooting death of Michael Brown “breaks [her] heart” and that a special prosecutor should have been appointed to handle the case.

So I guess we can presume that she is placing herself above the ideas and actions she required from others?
Typical of her type. Good at talking the talk but a complete failure when it comes to walking that talk.

Sad they were Political Pawns in the game of Racial Politics

Police body cameras would change this story. So would a camera in the paddy wagon.

There's the very real possibility that, had the officers been wearing cameras, absolutely none of this, from alleged mistreatment of a detainee/arrestee, to the death of the man, to the riots in the city, would have happened except for the initial encounter with the first two officers.

So, why aren't Baltimore officers "cameraed up"?

Somehow this issue has corrected itself.Incredible, given the situation in Baltimore over the prior few days.

The Baltimore City States Attorney belongs in jail. If I remember correctly the DA who brought the trumped up charges against the Duke Lacrosse players was charged.
She basing these arrests on what she hopes happened otherwise she would have given out bits and pieces of the evidence besides no medic called and no seat belt. She's the prime example of all that is wrong in black communities. The only thing "systemic" is their dishonesty and compelling need to blame everyone else instead of a sense of any personal responsibility.

Everyone sat around waiting on the "bombshell" that was going to be proof positive-forget even beyond a reasonable doubt-that Casey Anthony did in fact, kill her child.
It never came.
The same situation here and an all too familiar story is the reason:
A weak woman allowing herself to be a tool of a (Baltimore) Political Machine and an angry mob.

I'm wondering if there is any validity to the report that the Manner of Death was changed presumable at the urging of the SA, from Accidental to Homicide.
This has happened. In the Anthony case for example, the doctor who did the actual autopsy testify that he put Undetermined as the Manner of Death for Caylee, but it was changed to Homicide by that whack job "Dr G.", in an attempt no doubt, to inflate her importance to the viewers of her TV show. The compelling urge to exalt oneself when one is an elected officials can sometimes overpower a better judgment leading someone to do not only unethical but illegal actions.

It is more than obvious why this SA did not seek an indictment via the Grand jury as is called for in a case as serious as this. She and the other black race baiters in Baltimore fear another "No Bill" or no indictment as happened in Fergusen and again in NY and in fact happens so often in situations like this where media hype where the biases of the media try and convict suspects before a word of confirmed evidence is heard.

The 2 most disappointed people in the world today are Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson. these race hustlers rushed to Baltimore thinking it was white police killing another young black man-Now we find out that 3 of the 6 officers were black including the one with the most serious charge of second degree murder
Better luck next time Al and Jesse!!!

This is nothing more than a Ferguson redux of a politically and racially motivated decision to prosecute. If you recall, the mantra from the mayor and others was "justice for Freddie Gray" not, "justice." There is a big difference; the first declaration is a presumption of guilt on the officers. The burden of proof has been reversed and the officers must prove their innocence.
