ANNAPOLIS, MD – Governor Larry Hogan today announced the appointment of three new delegates to the Maryland General Assembly. Governor Hogan appointed the individuals to fill vacancies in the House of Delegates after receiving recommendations from the Republican Central Committees in the three respective counties.
“After conducting a thorough vetting process, I am confident I have chosen three delegates who will be strong advocates for their respective constituencies,” said Governor Hogan. “I offer sincere congratulations and look forward to working alongside them to advance our administration’s priorities of reducing taxes, improving our business climate, and making it easier for families to live and work in Maryland.”
In Washington County’s District 2A, County Commissioner Bill Wivell will replace Delegate Andrew Serafini, who was sworn in to the Maryland Senate last month.
In Carroll County’s District 5, Carroll County Board of Elections member April Rose will replace Delegate Justin Ready, who also became a state senator last month.
In Anne Arundel County’s District 33, lawyer and former chairman of the Republican Central Committee Michael Malone will replace Delegate Cathy Vitale, who was invested as an Anne Arundel County Circuit Court judge in January.
These appointments will take effect immediately.
