Harmony Jones' 10th birthday celebration last week was marred by a letter penned by a friend saying she could not make it to the party because Harmony is black.
The note, written in pink, blue and green markers, and sprinkled with spelling errors, read: 'Maby I will not be able to come to your birthday sleepover, because my dad will not let me go because you are black not trying to be races [sic], but my mom let me no [sic] Happy birthday!'
Both Harmony, who is African-American, and her unnamed friend, a 10-year-old who is presumably white, attend Highland Oaks Elementary School in Memphis, Tennessee.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with choosing your friends wisely.
No one should be branded racist for using their own prerogative to raise their children. Everyone else can simply butt out and mind their OWN business.

Sadly, people have the right to be racists in their own home. It's disgusting and shameful, but it's their right.
When the child is 18, and not 10, then SHE can decide what party she attends, and doesn't attend. Until then, her parents have a right to make that choice for her...for whatever reason. And that decision is nobody else's business. It sounds like that child has already been brainwashed by her local school system.

I'll call a turd a turd. When black people start cleaning up the trash coming out of some of their homes, your argument might have some merit. Black racism towards white people is at a all time high, and you want to call people Christian trash. I know a turd when I see and hear one talk "trash". Your "hands up, don't shoot" lie and racism is shining through bright and clear.
They are ten. As long a it isn't a dangerous situation why can't ten years have friends. Your way of thinking it old fashioned. Not all Africa Americans are horrible people as you wanna believe. Telling your ten year old daughter she can't go to a friends party because she is black is planting hate in to that child.
It's the parents decision and they have every right.
