There are six houses that have a property line on Germania Circle. Here are five of them. The CIP has $1,075,000.00 budgeted to buy these houses and tear them down for a park that will still flood.
That's $180k EACH!
I have a house for sale not in a flood zone in a nice neighborhood that can be lived in! I'll sell it for $180k any day!
Btw, the posted CIP got shortened to 27 pages out of the 294. Was that you, or someone else?

You don't seem to understand how expensive demolition is, especially considering the contaminants that are almost certainly present in these buildings and soils.
Also, the flooding here looks like it has a lot to do with poor drainage, rather than location.

So how much of this money goes to the property owners and how much goes to the demolition company? No offense, but the houses don't look very valuable. Do the occupants get any kind of moving expenses?

Why does the city of Salisbury need a park in the Ghetto anyway?
Wicomico County has many and I mean many parks throughout the county. Why does the City of Salisbury need it's own Parks and Rec's department When Wicomico County has one.
Something else for Jim Ireton to use as an excuse for the tax differential.
Nothing like duplicating services with the county.
By the way have you ever noticed how many people go to these parks throughout the county?? Pretty much NONE!!
Why demolish the buildings? Let the fire department use it for training then burn it down for free.

This "circle" is 150 feet from the river. For the million dollars, what say I dig in a storm drain to the Ribber and call it a day? The elevation of this land is the same as Perdue Processing Facility another 200 feet away, and they somehow don't need millions from City taxpayers to move their plant.
