Yes, get it over with once and for all. Just because the county council is asking for an elected school board doesn't mean it is going to happen.
This is the chance for the voters to decide if they want an elected school board or not. Put it to rest now. What are they afraid of.
Jim Ireton went up to speak in opposition yesterday and I am wondering why he is constantly attacking Republicans. First it was the Tax Differential on the County Council, then it was Governor Hogan with the silly little sign about highway user funds and now Republicans on the County Council who asked this Bill to move forward. If he wants war I believe we as Republicans are ready for battle.
Again what are they afraid of, it's only on a Bill to allow the citizens to decide if they want to vote on this or not.
I have a question for John Fredericksen.
Did Jim Ireton use his own time to go to Annapolis yesterday to speak against the elected school board Bill or did he get gratis time off/

It is certainly possible that an elected school board wouldn't hold its one employee (the superintendent) accountable for his/her tactics. However, voters could limit how many terms those board members would serve.

For example Rick Pollit was limited to two term limits by the voter and now we have a Republican County Executive. A perfect example of a perfect system.

Well of course Maryland voters are confused. Liars like Larry Hogan did everything they could to confuse them to win an election.

Since you know so much you should already know that term limits are part of the language of this Bill for an elected school board.
Jim Ireton and Chuck Cook are the biggest haters of Republicans and any Republican policy. They would be outraged if anyone posted a comment on FB calling Governor O'Malley or Obama a liar.
They both like probably like and elected school board but since it's a Republican idea they will create a scene and go against in and even try to belittle their own "constituency."
I think Mathias is going to kill the senate bill. He refused to sponsor it. It's ok for Worcester County (where he lives) to have an elected school board but those of us in Wicomico County couldn't possibly be smart enough to elect a school board.
