FROM CHANGE MARYLAND FACEBOOK.....

''Many in Baltimore’s Jewish day school community were treated to a pleasant surprise recently when Republican Gov. Larry Hogan announced in his first State of the State address that he plans to lead the effort to pass the long-debated Building Opportunities for All Students and Teachers (BOAST) in Maryland Tax Credit.

'[BOAST] provides tax credits to those who make voluntary contributions to private or parochial schools, and it will help free up more money and resources for our students in public schools,' Hogan told the General Assembly in his Feb. 4 address. 'This legislation has been debated in these chambers for more than a decade. The Senate has already voted to support it. We need to work to convince our colleagues in the House that it is the right thing to do.'”

How does donating money to private schools with a tax write off help public education?
