NYPD Police Commissioner William Bratton confirmed that the suspect was Ismaaiyl Brinsley, a 28-year-old Baltimore man.
Bratton says the suspect shot his ex-girlfriend Saturday morning around 5:45 a.m. in Owings Mills.
The ex-girlfriend’s mother told Baltimore County police that Brinsley was posting on her daughter’s Instagram account.
Police learned of Brinsley’s connection with Brooklyn and had faxed a warning flier to the NYPD, but it was not received until around the same time as the 2:47 p.m. shooting.
Brinsley allegedly posted anti-police postings on his ex-girlfriend’s Instagram account before the shooting.
According to CBS News, Brinsley posted a photo of a handgun on Instagram.

Eric Holder has spoken out condemning the violence. I'm sure he doesn't feel he had any part in it either. Still haven't heard anything from the president or Al Sharpton. Where are they now? When a black man shoots two police officers, a Hispanic and an Asian no less, we don't hear a peep out of them. Where is Mrs. O, who was treated like a servant at Target when someone asked her to, "get something down from that shelf," just because she is black.
This is what you guys wanted, right? Because of poor unarmed Mike Brown and poor, "I can't breath, Eric Gardner." I've got enough breath to resist arrest. The coroner's report in Mr. Gardner's case said the "choke hold" did not kill him, but that is just a small inconvenience, like Mike Brown was shot in the back. Well we sure know how these two officers were killed. You must all be so proud.
This country is screwed. Here's why:
1. One thug tries to wrestle a gun from the police, gets killed in the process, and gets 24/7 media coverage. Two policemen get killed - one hour of coverage so far.
2. Religious fanatics instill such fear in our country that even the mention of their spiritual leader - or the showing of his likeness - is banned.
3. And now, a third-rate despot is dictating which movies we can see.
Something is wrong - very wrong - here.
This country is dying from the lack of strong, decisive leadership.
God help us all.
Cop's lives matter.
When I first read about the two police officers dying after being "assassinated" by some black crazy thug, my first thought was that OBAMA certainly had a lot to do with this. Where he is when all this happened? In Hawaii at our expense playing golf with his creepy wife and kids, He brought on this racial situation big time since he has been in office and promotes it along with SHARPTON and HOLDER. Just seeing what happened at our Christmas Parade right here in Salisbury and the power that these black thugs seem to have disrupting our lives with threats and getting away with it is unbelievable. God bless the two brave oifficers who's lives were taken way to early by this crazy worthless piece of scum that OBAMA is probably praising right now.
