Dad Confronts Kidnapper, Saves 5-Year-Old Daughter

A set of Utah parents were awakened Friday to an unsettling noise for 4:30 in the morning: the sound of their front door opening and their 5-year-old daughter talking.

When the father rushed outside in his pajama pants and hoodie he saw the terrifying sight of his 5-year-old stepdaughter in the arms of a stranger who was carrying her away across the front lawn. The man had snatched the girl out of her bed in the basement moments earlier after coming in the house through an unlocked door, police said.

The father confronted the man, demanding that he give the girl back. Without a fight, the intruder handed her over, and then fled the scene.

As a mother this gives me chills! PLEASE folks, lock your doors!!!! It's as simple as that. A crime of convenience, he may not have even entered the house had the doors been locked. It doesn't matter if you live in a "safe" or "nice" neighborhood. Crime is everywhere.

Nope. Shoot, Shovel, Shut Up. Police, courts and politicians don't have my family's best interest at heart... I'll be damned if I'm leaving it in their hands. Glad they got their daughter back, but the mom and daughter should question their fathers ability to protect them.

Anon 749 you are completely wrong. The cops aren't going to arrest you for protecting your kidnapped daughter. Their will be an investigation to confirm your story but that's due to the fact that you shot somebody and they need to insure that everything was legal. Is it possible that a bad investigation could result in an innocent man being charged - yes, because mistakes because cops are human. But the majority of us are also parents and would exactly the same in that situation. Quit believing all the cop hater bull crap you read here and other blogs. Nothing but cop hating crap.
