WASHINGTON (WJZ)—Profiling by police is becoming a focus for Maryland lawmakers on Capitol Hill. They’re pushing legislation to end the practice.
Alex DeMetrick looks at the support that move is now generating.
It’s Md. Sen. Ben Cardin’s bill and it’s getting renewed interest in wake of a teen killing in Ferguson, MO.
Police work is always a question of judgment, but when race or ethnicity trumps probable cause and becomes the prime reason for an arrest or other action, there is pushback.

Racial profiling doesn't exist in MD.
He is an idiot! You look at the people doing the most crime in your area. If I lived in boarder town Texas and lots of Taco places were getting broken into, I would be looking at the Mexican population. Profiling gets results, certain races do certain crimes. 99.9% of all serial killers are white males.
The case in Ferguson was not about racial profiling. It was about a thug who just robbed a store and was trying to beat the Hell out of a police officer.
If it looks like a duck...
If 80% of a type of people commit crime, wouldn't you profile them? Sorry Bout that dear 20%.
Good thing mike Lewis got where he's at years ago. He's the profiling king.
Cardin needs to be put out to pasture.
Law enforcement isn't stupid. They'll just find a way to continue convicting the same people who commit the same crimes. Nothing but political b.s.
Quack Quack, there is no such thing as racial profiling.
Ben the Dem is looking for the minority votes right here less than 4 weeks before the General Election.

Says who? Prove it Motormouth!! I noticed you didn't sign your name did you Mr. Puss. I bet you won't say that to his face.
This is a perfect reason to oust Cardin. He's just riding this political pony to pick up "democratic" votes.
Soo... he's "profiling"! How obvious is that?
If the shoe fits...PROFILE!
Police profile BEHAVIOR, not skin color.
