HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) -- Maryland environmental regulators see little risk of water contamination from hydraulic fracturing for natural gas in far western Maryland.
A draft report (http://bit.ly/1ujFFp7 ) released Friday for public comment ranks the risks associated with water contamination mostly low, and in some cases moderate.
It says state regulations are sufficient to protect sources of drinking water supplies, but there is an elevated risk of harm to aquatic life under certain conditions during times of drought.

Can we just look at Western PA and see how horribly their land, and surrounding environment is destroyed due to the fracking up there? Fracking might work for the quick buck, but for the long hall Western MD will be in for a lot of pain, both health and finance wise.

Just what is being destroyed in Pennsylvania? There is always disturbance in the immediate vicinity of any work site but are you alluding to wholesale destruction of large areas? Where did you get such information? I see no evidence of it.
4:07 must be a liberal Obama voter. No significant problems from cracking. Also it is necessary for energy in the future.
Natural gas fracking has been around for decades with out causing issues.
Because the water is already contaminated with chicken feces runoff!
