Laurel Man Charged in Connection with Heroin Distribution


Laurel, DE - The Delaware State Police have arrested a Laurel man after he was found to be in possession of heroin and other drugs.

On Thursday October 23, 2013 around 3:30 p.m., troopers assigned to the Drug Task Force in Sussex County concluded a several week investigation after receiving numerous complaints about drug activity from a residence in the 33000 block of Little Hill Road in Laurel. The investigation revealed that one of the occupants of the home, Reginald K. Mitchell, 38, was dealing quantities of heroin from the house. Detectives responded to the area of the house and prior to their arrival observed Mitchell driving away in a white pick-up truck. A traffic stop was conducted shortly thereafter and Mitchell was found to be in possession of 13 bags of heroin.

Unit members then responded back to the residence on Little Hill Road where a consent to search of the home was conducted. During the search, troopers located an additional 627 bags of heroin totaling more than 9.4 grams, 2.6 grams of crack cocaine, drug paraphernalia, and $480.00 in suspected drug proceeds.

Reginald Mitchell was transported back to Troop 4 where he was charged with Possession of Heroin, two counts of Possession with Intent to Deliver Heroin, Possession with Intent to Deliver Cocaine, and two counts of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was arraigned at JP2 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $52,000.00 cash bond.

Did'nt the clear thinking among us know where the welfare kids would eventually end up? No fathers in sight and women having children for the check has come home to roost in a big way.
