Kent County, DE – The Delaware State Police have arrested a Tier 2 sex offender after an investigation reveals he had unlawful sexual contact with a 14 year old female.
Detectives with the Troop 3 Criminal Investigations Unit in Dover arrested Tyrone A. Turcotte, 22 of Smyrna, on Friday September 12, 2014 after an investigation into the sexual abuse of a 14 year old female ensued following her recent disclosure to her mother that Turcotte had touched her inappropriately on several occasions beginning back in June 2014.
Tyrone Turcotte, who is a medium risk Tier 2 sex offender, was picked up by troopers at a house in Hartly on Friday and was charged with Rape 4th and seven counts of Unlawful Sexual Contact 2nd. He was arraigned at JP2 and committed to James T. Vaughn Correctional Center on $41,000.00 cash bond.
Because of the sensitivity of this case, and in consideration of the victim and their family, only limited information is being released.
Turcotte is a non-familial acquaintance of a relative of the victim.
