The man who allegedly made it inside the White House yesterday after jumping a fence was carrying a folding knife - and is an Iraq veteran who had half his foot blown off on duty and now suffers from PTSD, it has been claimed.
Omar J. Gonzalez, 42, was arrested by the Secret Service yesterday after agents claimed he made a dash for the Presidential residence while carrying a three-and-a-half-inch folding knife.
Gonzalez, who is thought to have served 18 years in the military, including three tours in Iraq, and reportedly told Secret Service agents he was convinced 'the atmosphere was collapsing' and that he needed to warn the President.

I find it funny how these stories are reported. I have carried, and still do, a 3 1/2 inch blade Buck 110 folding knife on my belt for 50 years and have yet to experience a day that I thought of it as a "weapon".
It is a tool. It's a pencil sharpener, string cutter, and a whittling tool. I've used it to clean wild game, carve the food on my plate, and split a sandwich with a friend.
I'll bet you 100 to 1 that this guy never even thought that he was carrying a "weapon" for any reason here.
Yet, it made a great headline, didn't it?
he probably was feeling his service in Iraq was wasted. why not feel this way; Obama wants our nation to fail and to think of all our soldiers who have been wounded, and many bled and died for this creep. I realize they serve our country, but they serve under a "commander in chief" and this one has never filled that roll. he's the "liar in chief", the "golfer in chief", but NOT the "commander in chief".
NOT saying it was right for this man to do this, but he probably just "went off" because of what I explained. so sad for so many.
And did Obama ever say to him just once, Thank you for your service - or did he ever go visit him while recovering just to say thank you for your service? I very highly doubt it - and every veteran, no matter when they served, deserve that one sentence once in a while. Obama would rather go out and play golf than have a one on one with a veteran or an active serviceman. No, what the man did is not right, but why didn't they go get the Golfer in Chief and have him meet the guy and hear him out, just once.
Did the FOLDING knife measure 3 and one-half inches open or closed ? My pocket knife if one and 3/4 inch when closed. Weapon?? A Chrysler ignition key is more of a weapon...
