As the largest Ebola outbreak in world history rages on, more questions and concerns about containing the virus are being raised.
During a briefing yesterday, Dr. Thomas Frieden, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), said that the outbreak in West Africa is “spiraling out of control”. He said that the international community “can control it, if we act now, but the window of opportunity is closing.”
As of August 28, Ebola has infected 3,069 people and caused 1,552 deaths, according to the CDC.
Last Thursday, the World Health Organization (WHO) reported that nearly 40% of those cases occurred within the last three weeks.
The WHO also warned that this outbreak could eventually infect more than 20,000 people.

Its coming and it will come through our unsecured border.
We were told 4 weeks ago from the CDC that there was nothing to be concerned about. hmmmmmm
And another dr who has ebola has just landed this am in the USA.
If there were 1552 Europeans dead from a virus the response would be different. 1552 dead Africans < 1552 dead Europeans.
This is a monster that cannot be resealed in the bottle. I'm afraid too many citizens were blindly lied to once again by the government. The CDC is the same organization that covered up the transmission of AIDS for years because they didn't want us to know what was going on. I fail to understand why we as a people are always guarded from the truth. Makes no sense. At least the people who were so confident a month ago that this was "no big deal" are now beginning to wake up. Lets hope it is not too late.
11:05-Is everything a conspiracy with you? You are giving the government far too much credit.I found out a long time ago that the government saves billions per year by instilling the conspiracy mentality in the minds of it's citizens.Whenever they are clueless they convince us that they are hiding something from us.They don't know any more than we do.
