Criticism as Obama, Clintons Party While Ferguson Erupts in Riots

President Obama is being criticized for vacationing and partying with the Clintons in Martha's Vineyard as protests, and in some cases riots, continue to engulf Ferguson, Missouri after local police shot teenager Michael Brown.

With but few words from Obama about the death of 18-year old Michael Brown, the president continues his vacation in Martha's Vineyard, even attending a birthday party on Wednesday night. According to a White House press release, "a good time was had by all."

But as criticism rolled in over Obama's revelry as the situation in Ferguson continues to boil over, the White House insisted that everything was well in hand and Obama was staying informed about the situation.

Via Twitter, the White House reported, "The President was briefed tonight by Senior Advisor Valerie Jarrett and Attorney General Eric Holder on the situation in Ferguson."

Many Twitter users were not mollified by these assurances from the White House.

John R. Stanton, for instance, tweeted, "Obama and Clinton hugging it out in the Hamptons while no part of their country burns."

In all fairness to Obama....he did everything he could do. He asked for peace. He knew there was much more to come out on this subject and that the men involved were not angels. I'm not sure he knew how bad the situation really was but he didn't jump in. He stated that we needed calm and to wait. As we wait we find out much more about the situation and the city burns while the police stand by and watch. If they try to stop the looting and burning and one more person dies...it is flame to the already out of control fire. The citizens of this town are getting what they want... lawlessness and violence. I pity any decent soul that lives there and encourage them to get out while they still can.
