15,000 pounds of chicken nuggets recalled; may contain plastic

Perdue has recalled 15,000 pounds of frozen chicken nuggets that could contain pieces of plastic, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service announced on Wednesday.

The recalled products include 8-ounce boxes of Applegate Naturals Chicken Nuggets and were sold under establishment number P2617.

The boxes have a “best before” date of 02/05/15 and were shipped to retailers across the country.

Perdue discovered the problem after receiving complaints about pieces of plastic in the product.

No injuries have been reported.

The plastic that may have found it's way into this product is the least of anyone's worries.
Gotta love the Applegate "Naturals" name. A blatant attempt to mislead people into thinking this is a natural product.
The best practice is no eat this crap. It's not even fit to feed your dog if you love him.

The Perdue group of companies continues to lose their best people, which could have prevented this from happening. Between the ones they laid off over the last five years and the ones that went on their own before the next shoe fell, easily a couple hundred good employees are gone.

Only a few would even think of coming back - even fewer have been welcomed back....and their reputation has been tarnished to the point that they're not seeing good applicants that they're willing to hire....

There are still others that should leave (some have) in order for them to rebuild.
